In Chapter 82, Tom Peters addresses the subject of change.

CHANGE-

-is the only constant.  Everything changes, it is literally a basic fundamental of the Universe. Much of the JOY of a life well lived is meeting the challenge of what is inevitable, and embracing it daily.

Peters make reference to George Patton, Lord Nelson, and many other leaders making enormous and historically beneficial changes in VERY short periods of time. His reference to anecdotal evidence pointing to the fact that BIG CHANGE is easier to accept than incremental change leads to the idea of-

-BHAG

Jim Collin’s term -Big Hairy Audacious Goal. If you are going to change, then aim ridiculously high. Define your BHAG and get started.

Tom Peters “bottom line” observation: Change will take precisely as long as you think it will.

TIP: If you do not like the way things are today, what are you going to do about it? Yes, YOU! You have two choices from here forward: 1) Sit around and let others  direct the changes in your life; or 2) you can determine the direction of change in your life. There are no other practical choices, and either way works. Which way you elect is entirely your choice.
