Born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Charles soon developed a deep love and respect for the outdoors. He met his wife, Jamie, in San Diego, and spent many years enjoying Southern California's sun and sand. After a few visits to Jamie's hometown of Colorado Springs, however, Charles fell in love with the state's ideal climate, easy-going attitude, and plentiful outdoor activities. In search of a new lifestyle, he and Jamie left the hectic west coast, moved to Denver, and bought a boat. True outdoor enthusiasts, they spend their free time hiking.
